Cameroon’s senior men’s cricket team have returned home from Botswana where they wrapped up an incredibly proud and historic campaign at the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub-regional Qualifier A.
The team finished fourth overall in the tournament standings, capping off their journey on a high note with a last day victory over Mali.

Throughout the tournament, Cameroon secured three victories against Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast and Mali then suffered three narrow defeats across six matches.
While this solid effort ultimately fell just short of securing a ticket to the regional final, there are numerous bright spots and historic positives to celebrate from this tournament, which yielded outstanding individual and collective accolades.
Notably, three Cameroonian players ranked among the Top 10 in the total number of runs won by an individual player. The team equally walked away with three Player of the Match awards, and two exceptional bowlers ranked among the Top 10 individuals with the most wickets taken.

” we were able to play six games in total and win three matches against Côte d’Ivoire, Mali and Sierra Leone. we made history with the win against Sierra Leone as it is it the first time we have been able to win a game against against them.”
